Been a long time
Hey guys, it has been a horribly long time since I have returned to DA. I had a lot going on, including some stress from people and work, it kind of alienated me from DA.
I have however though, let go of all that now, and am focusing on art more than ever. DA has changed so much too! I just wanted to let you guys know about some changes with my art and the like, but also want to here from you. Anyone still around from the golden days (leave a comment or message me)?
Changes to my DA
- New Gallery set out, with many old deviations put into storage
- Profile page change which will have easier links to all my social network sites and alt sites
- Weekly updates will be a thing
Changes for me
- Employment! I now work for an environmental education centre as both an artist and educator! I get to use my Zoology degree for something yay~!
- I now own and run my own art business call UmbraArtStudios where I have been tutoring and doing commissions~ I was nervous it might not work out, but I have improved a lot and better in the rhythm of things
- Thanks to my art now being my primary income, I can spend a lot more attention to my art and all of YOU~!

How long have you been on DeviantArt? - 5 years and still going
What does your username mean? - My username used to be Zendar13. it was representative of my main manga character Zendar a elemental shadow wielding soldier. I sort of moved away from that though after a while but watchers still wanted me to keep it relative, so I changed my name to Umbra Atramentum. It is latin for essentially shadow ink where umbra means the darkest point of a shadow and atramentum means a liquid or ink like liquid
Sounded unique, artsy, though didnt draw completely away from Zendar with the connection of shadows.Describe yourself in three words. - Friendly, anxious, dreamer
Are you left or right handed? - Right, though I can still draw with my left
What was your first deviation? - It was the first digital work I had ever had a go with, with a tablet and PS
What is your favourite type of art to create? - Ill be honest, hands down fantasy, but specifically dragon, and creature concept works.
If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be? - OMFG animating, or manga hands down.

It included characters I was interested in at the time, Sephiroth and Alucard and in a humorous fashion, I loved these little comics the artist did What type of art do you tend to favourite the most? - Fantasy
gives me inspiration.Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist? - oh geezzzzz I could be here all day, however here are a handful of some of my all time faves go check em out
If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be? - Pretty much any of the above ^^ and additionally the friends I have made, you know who you are
How has a fellow deviant impacted your life? - One deviant simply responded to a work I did following a tutorial of theirs, it was very interesting and opened many pathways into being able to do colour works, before them, I couldnt, and they were even kind enough to give me their opinion and praise for my improved work ^^
What are your preferred tools to create art? - staedtler pencils, ink, or a wacom bamboo tablet in PS
What is the most inspirational place for you to create art? - to be honest, my room as silly as that sounds, or in a very foresty or lush environment <3
What is your favourite DeviantArt memory? - to be honest, there is too many, from being included in stream chats to having watchers that have stuck with me since the beginning and continue to be my friend today. I'm always learning, getting excited about new styles I see or challenges, and so many of these are just awesome memories, would be too hard to choose a fave

Revamped Profile completed!
I have now finished (up to a presentable) point how I like my profile! I think this is the nicest I have ever made it and am very proud of how it looks ^^. Ill probably break it down or add other things in later, but for now I am happy with it the way it is, all but a very few of the buttons work and it is all up and running! Only thing I have left to do is revamping my gallery!
I'll continue to upload, but Im not going to make any promises about times etc, as life can create surprises and absences and slow periods as we have seen so far are not uncommon. Thankyou all though for being patient, I really appreciate it.
Revamp- starting off fresh
My gallery, message feed, profile etc, will all be revamped and changed. I just think my DA has become a bit stale, and just, I dont know I feel like starting off fresh without having to make a new account.
Things that will change:
- profile with new lay out, and info
- deviations will be moved and some deleted, so be wary that there will be a lot of rearranging there if you need to look for something
- My new name will stay as it is, I am finally happy 100% with it, it feels unique, disassociates myself from the initial reasons I got on DA and who I was identified as, but also feels a bit more mature, or professional? I don't know how to describe it
Feels like my own unique trademark I suppose.- Groups will be heavily modified
- My activity feed will also be heavily modified as I have A LOT of messages to wade through :S I will reply to them in time, its just going to take me a while T_T
I think a fresh start is just really what I needed, though it doesnt mean I will change, I just wanted a new look and feel
